Mintos fall in playoff opener to Pat Canadians

REGINA, SK – It was a tough go for the Prince Albert Mintos on Friday night as they dropped game one of their playoff series with the Regina Pat Canadians, 6-3 at Co-Operators Arena.

PA Raiders prospect Luke Moroz led the scoresheet for Regina, scoring twice while adding two assists.

Nolan Stevenson also had three points in the game, netting a trio of assists while Rhett Platt and Koen Senft both had two helpers. Casey Brown had a goal and an assist with Ryan Zaremba, Noel Englot, and Ryan McDonald also finding the back of the net. Steven Steranka, Noah Asmundson, and Kolten Bridgeman each had an assist in the game.

Logan Pickford had a pair of lamp lighters in the contest with Owen Nelson scoring the other marker for PA. Carson Olsen, Abinet Klassen, and Will Whitter were the assist-getters for the Mintos in the contest.

John MacPherson made 18 saves for Regina while Jayden Kraus managed 23 stops for Prince Albert.

The series continues Sunday afternoon when the Mintos host the Pat Canadians for game two at the Art Hauser Centre. Puck drop is at 1:30 p.m.
