Raiders looking to get back on track against Tigers

Dec 14, 2022 | 1:00 PM

The Prince Albert Raiders (10-18-2-0) hope to end a five-game losing skid tonight when they host the Medicine Hat Tigers (11-16-4-1) for the final time in the regular season.

Not only is this the final time the Tigers will be visiting the Art Hauser Centre this year, but it’s also the final time that these teams will meet this season. So far, the Raiders have a perfect record against the Tigers at 3-0-0-0, which includes a 5-4 win in PA, and 3-1 and 4-2 victories in Medicine Hat.

Both clubs enter tonight having lost their last matchups against the same team, the Saskatoon Blades. The Raiders were throttled by the Blades 9-0 back on Saturday night. The Tigers had a bit of a better time on Tuesday night but still took a beating, losing 8-3.

Tonight’s contest marks game number four of this five-game homestand where the fifth and final game is slated for Saturday night against the Spokane Chiefs.

A look at the Eastern Conference standing as of Dec. 14.

Who to Watch

Rookie Ryder Ritchie continues to turn heads this season with his impressive play and skating abilities. The 2021 first-round pick has five goals and eight assists through 23 games this season, which includes the Teddy Bear toss goal back on Friday night against the Regina Pats.

Alternate captain Landon Kosior currently leads the team with 28 points on the year and is looking to build on those impressive totals from the blue line. Prior to his last game, the veteran defenseman was riding a five-game point streak and is currently on pace to hit over 60 points this year— which would smash his career high of 48 points set last season.
