Alleged drive-thru car jacker breaches bail, faces new and related charges

Dec 14, 2022 | 12:54 PM

A woman charged after a carjacking last October at a Prince Albert restaurant drive-thru is back in court with new and related charges.

Brianne Fineday, 29, from Deschambeault Lake, was not present Wednesday morning when her matters were most recently discussed at Provincial Court.

She’s most recently alleged to have committed a robbery in Prince Albert on Dec. 12, and while doing so did use violence, threats of violence, or wound the vehicle’s owner.

The incident occurred roughly five weeks after Fineday was granted bail. The reasons why she was released are protected under a publication ban, as are the conditions she was ordered to follow.

Back on the morning of Oct. 16, police responded to a restaurant in the Cornerstone parking lot.

Through their investigation, police learned a person exited a vehicle they were in and approached the driver of a second vehicle in the drive-thru lane. Both vehicles then sped off.

Fineday was arrested over a week later and subsequently charged with armed robbery, having a prohibited weapon, and having proceeds of a crime.

During Wednesday’s court hearing, her lawyer indicated plans to seek bail and is canvassing for the possibility of electronic monitoring.

The case was adjourned to Dec. 21.
