Raiders gear up to host Wheat Kings to start 5-game homestand

The Prince Albert Raiders (10-15-2-0) get set for a five-game homestand where they kick things off against the Brandon Wheat Kings (10-15-3-0).

The Wheaties come into tonight having lost their previous game to Saskatoon in overtime. Brandon managed to erase a two-goal deficit in the third to force extras before Connor Roulette scored the OT winner midway through to win it 5-4.

The Raiders also come into tonight having lost their last matchup, 6-4 in Winnipeg. The loss was also the final game of a five-game road trip for PA which sent them through Alberta and into Manitoba where they won two out of the five. The two wins came on the Alberta portion of the trip when they defeated the Calgary Hitmen 5-2 and the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-2.

After tonight’s game, the Raiders will get ready to host Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats on Friday night.

The Raiders are also hosting a food drive during the game and are asking patrons to bring non-perishable food items to the arena for the Prince Albert Food Bank.

Who to Watch

Raider rookie Ryder Ritchie will look to extend his point streak after managing points in his last three games. The Calgary, AB product has five points (2G, 3A) over that span, including the game-tying marker against the ICE last game. His recent hot streak has helped improve his season to four goals and eight assists over twenty games played this year.

Veteran Keaton Sorensen continues his tear on opponents, averaging over a point per game so far this season. The speedy forward has 24 points (13G, 11A) on the campaign, including a two-assist performance in his last game against the ICE.

Newcomer Brayden Dube netted his first goal, and first point, in the Green and Gold last game in Winnipeg. Prior to being acquired from Seattle as a part of the Nolan Allan trade, the rookie and pride of Roblin, MB netted himself two goals and two assists across 14 games with the Thunderbirds.
