Inmate dies at Sask. Pen

An inmate has died at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary, the Correctional Service of Canada said Wednesday.

Brandon Lupkoski died in custody on November 28. He was serving a three-year, eight-month, and 19-day sentence starting on February 25.

Lupkoski was convicted of breaking and entering with intent to commit, discharging a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possessing a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.

His family has been notified.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
