Rebels sweep weekend slate versus Northern Bears

PRINCE ALBERT, SK – The Regina Avana Rebels got the better of the Prince Albert Northern Bears this weekend, cruising to an 8-2 win on Saturday and a 6-2 win on Sunday.

Bears forward Jasmine Kohl led the team in points over the weekend, netting herself three assists across the two games. Jazlyn Petreman potted one goal and one assist while Raelyn Vezeau, Kaebree Young, Julia Cey, Kelsey Ledoux, Taelyr Ballard, and Kassie Ferster each had one point.

For the Rebels, Greta Henderson had a weekend by helping herself to four goals and two assists while Berlin Lolacher had five points (1G, 4A). Not too far behind them is Prince Albert’s own Stryker Zablocki who had four goals, along with Brooklyn Nimegeers who finished the weekend with four assists.

PA netminders Brooke Archer and Annika Neufeldt combined for 68 saves on the weekend where the Bears now fall to 2-11-0-0 on the campaign.

Regina’s Hannah Tresek and Chloe Sorenson made a total of 38 stops against the black and orange, helping the Rebels improve to a league-best 10-3-0-0 record this season.

The Bears are back in action next weekend when they’ll host the undefeated Notre Dame Hounds on Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre.
