Lloyd Ex looking forward to PBR Winter Classic bull-riding show

These cowboys will be showing their stamina and skill at the Lloyd Ex PBR Winter Classic Professional Bull Riders show coming up Nov. 26.

Doors for the event will open at 6 p.m., and the bull-riding performance will kick off at 7 p.m. The show will be followed by a cabaret night with live music and dancing at about 9 p.m. All times are in Mountain Standard Time Zone for all of Lloydminster.

Owen Noble, Lloyd Ex chair of the event committee, encourages people not to dally, and to get a good spot to take in the performance.

“It’s all festival seating, so basically if you want a good seat you need to get there early,” he said.

All participants in the bull-riding performance are professional bull-riders on the PBR circuit.

Noble said it’s always an exciting experience for anyone taking in the performance, watching the bull riders face off with the hefty bulls.

“It’s the closest you’ll ever get to being associated with a bull-riding event,” he said. “You’re right there, hands-on, sitting around the arena [watching the show]. It’s probably the third or fourth year that we’ve done it, and it’s been excellent.”

A total of 30 bull riders will participate in the event, including some from Meadow Lake and the surrounding local area.

Noble said the riders taking part in the show have years of experience mastering the art of bull riding, which is no easy task.

“They are guys who have been doing it for a while now,” he said. “You are not going to be getting any beginners at this level.”

Noble added the PBR Classic events are always a popular draw for Lloyd Ex.

The bull-riding show will also feature popular entertainer known as Brinson, a rodeo clown and bullfighter, as a special highlight. And something else to look forward to, Prince Albert singer Katelyn Lehner will perform as part of the evening entertainment.

Tickets for the PBR Winter Classic show are available through the Lloydminster Agricultural Exhibition Association online, by calling Lloyd Ex in advance, or at the doors on the night of the event.
