Warrant out for James Smith Cree Nation man

Melfort RCMP has issued an arrest warrant for Darcel Burns, 39, from James Smith Cree Nation after he threatened multiple people with a weapon (believed to be an air rifle) and assaulted another man (received non-life-threatening injuries).

Police initially received the report, around 4:30 p.m. last Friday, Nov. 11 and immediately responded. Officers were unable to locate Burns as he fled from the scene.

Burns remains at large.

Burns is described as approximately 6-4 and 265 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen driving a black pickup truck.

He is currently charged with one count of using an imitation firearm during an offence, assault with a weapon and uttering threats against a person.
