MOOSE JAW, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders got the two points on Tuesday night, downing the Moose Jaw Warriors 2-1 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

This is the Raiders second win in as many games as they beat the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-2 in their last contest back on Friday.

Keaton Sorensen and Carson Latimer lit the lamp against Moose Jaw, while Landon Kosior and Nolan Allan each potted assists.

Denton Mateychuk was the goal scorer for the Warriors, with Brayden Yager collecting the lone assist on the play.

Max Hildebrand was nearly flawless on the night, making 17 stops to collect his second win this season and to help the Raiders improve to 7-12-2-0 on the campaign.

Moose Jaw’s Jackson Unger turned aside 20 shots as the Warriors fall to 11-8-0-0 on the year.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

The Raiders found themselves up midway through the opening frame after netting the only goal of the period on the powerplay. Kosior dumped the puck off to Sorensen who somehow found twine through a sea of bodies in front to give PA the lead.

Just over five minutes into the third and PA extended their lead. Pakkala sent a lead pass to Latimer who chipped it by the defender and broke into the zone. He turned on the jets and drove past another defender before going upstairs on Unger to double up Moose Jaw.

The Warriors managed to get one back before the end of the frame however, scoring to make it 2-1 Raiders going into the third.

Fast-forward to the end of the period where the Warriors pulled Unger while on the man-advantage to make it a 6-on-4 powerplay. Even with two extra players on the ice, Moose Jaw failed to score as the Raiders came away with the one-goal win.

The Raiders are back home for their next game where they’ll host the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night.
