Raiders head to Moose Jaw to faceoff against Warriors

Nov 15, 2022 | 11:51 AM

The Prince Albert Raiders (6-12-2-0) look to make it two wins in a row as they head south to square off against the Moose Jaw Warriors (11-7-0-0) at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

This is the Raiders’ third of six meetings against Moose Jaw this season, where P.A. lost both of their previous meetings earlier this season by 3-2 and 4-3 decisions.

Prince Albert’s win against Edmonton on Friday put the Raiders back into the win column after falling to Lethbridge earlier in the week. The win over the Oil Kings was highlighted by a four-point performance by Carson Latimer as well as a 30-save win for import netminder Tikhon Chaika.

The Warriors come into tonight’s tilt after narrowly escaping the Medicine Hat Tigers 5-4 in a shootout on Friday night.

This is a quick one-game road trip for P.A., as they’re back at the Art Hauser Centre on Saturday where they’ll play host to Medicine Hat.

Who to Watch

Ottawa Senators prospect Carson Latimer potted four points (2G, 2A) last game against his former team the Edmonton Oil Kings, which was his most notable outing in a number of multi-point games. The Surrey, B.C. product has recorded a point in seven of his last eight games, which also includes multi-point performances versus Swift Current (1G, 1A) and Tri-City (3A) along with the last game against Edmonton.

Along with Latimer, Raiders captain Nolan Allan had a multi-point night in his last contest where he managed a goal and an assist against the Oil Kings. The pride of Davidson, Sask. has 10 points this season with four goals, three off a career-high of seven.

Alternate captain Landon Kosior sits tied with Latimer for the team leader in points with 18 (8G, 10A) where he’s been on roll his last 10 games, scoring 12 points (5G, 7A) over that span. His most notable performance came against Tri-City when he hung two goals and two assists on the Americans. The LA Kings prospect is currently coming off a one-goal outing against Edmonton.
