LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Prince Albert Raiders ran out of steam on Wednesday night, falling 2-1 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Enmax Centre.

Alternate captain Carson Latimer scored the lone goal for PA while Eric Johnston and Niall Crocker each tallied helpers.

Tyson Laventure and Joe Arnsten were the goal scorers for Lethbridge while Logan Wormald had two assists. Jett Jones and Cole Shepard each netted assists.

Tikhon Chaika made 35 saves in the game with P.A. now falling to 5-12-2-0 on the year.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

Following a slow start to the game, the Raiders found themselves trailing after the opening period. Wormald’s initial shot was stopped by Chaika but Laventure was there to bat the rebound into the net to put Lethbridge up by one.

Neither team could find the back of the net in the second but the lamp would be lit in the third. Arntsen let one go from the point to give the Hurricanes a late 2-0 lead.

The goal sparked some fire in the green and gold where they began to chip into the Lethbridge lead. Crocker set up Johnston on the blue line for a one timer which was then tipped in front by Latimer and past Meneghin to make it a one goal game.

In the dying seconds of the contest, PA pulled Chaika in hopes of scoring but failed to convert with the extra attacker. Lethbridge escaped the Raiders late game pressure and ran off with the 2-1 win.

The Raiders are back at the Art Hauser Centre for their next contest on Friday night when the Edmonton Oil Kings visit Prince Albert. The night will also be a special one where the Raiders will debut special jerseys in honour of Remembrance Day.
