Heat warnings, severe thunderstorm watches in effect for large parts of Sask.

It’s going to be hot in the northern half of Saskatchewan on Friday and wet in the southern half.
Environment Canada issued a number of heat warnings and severe thunderstorm watches Friday.
The heat warnings covered the areas around Cree Lake, Île à la Crosse, La Loche, La Ronge, Prince Albert National Park and Pelican Narrows. The weather service said temperatures near 30 C are expected Friday, with things expected to cool off over the weekend.
The severe thunderstorm watches — which mean weather conditions are right for a major storm to develop — blanketed the southwest and included Assiniboia, Regina, Estevan, Weyburn, Fort Qu’Appelle, Humboldt, Kindersley, Rosetown, Leader, Moose Jaw, Outlook, Watrous, Shaunavon, Maple Creek and Swift Current, as well as the surrounding areas.
