In an email to 650 CKOM, Henein confirmed she is representing Walker, but declined to offer any comments on the case.

Henein, a partner at Henein Hutchison LLP, has successfully represented several prominent clients in high-profile Canadian cases, including Vice-Admiral Mark Norman and former CBC radio host Jian Ghomeshi.

Walker, 48, is facing charges in Canada and the United States after her arrest in Oregon. The charges include abduction in contravention of a custody order, mischief, aggravated identity theft, and possession of false identity documents. Police have said further criminal charges are possible, as the case is still being investigated.

After her truck and belongings were found at a park near Saskatoon in late July, Walker and her son became the subject of a two-week search involving multiple police agencies and many volunteers. A candlelight vigil was held for the pair before they were ultimately found safe in Oregon City by police.

Walker’s son was sent back to Canada shortly after his mother’s arrest, and Walker was scheduled to be sent back to Canada on Wednesday after waiving a formal extradition process in an American courtroom.
