RCMP searching for missing woman at campground near Creighton

UPDATE: On Aug. 15, Creighton RCMP notified the public that Margaret Barney has been located safe. They thank the public and media for their assistance.

Creighton RCMP are attempting to locate a missing woman at the Granite Lake Campground near Creighton.

Police are searching for 66-year-old Margaret Barney who last seen walking in the campground on the evening of August 13.

Barney is described as a white woman of a heavy build (approximately 300 pounds, 5 feet 2 inches), with grey hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown shirt, capri pants with blue-green running shoes and is known to wear eyeglasses. She also has a dragon tattoo on one of her arms.

RCMP officers are currently searching the area with volunteers and have organized for a drone and La Ronge Canadian Rangers to join the search effort.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Margaret Barney are being asked to call Creighton RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
