U13A Aces head south for Provincials

Jul 14, 2022 | 8:00 AM

The U13A Prince Albert Aces are ready for whatever gets thrown at them this weekend as they will make the journey south to Regina for the U13A Provincial Championship.

Along with P.A, 14 other softball clubs will also make the trip to the Queen City and look to claim the title of champion.

The Aces have been placed in the ‘Green Pool’ along with four other teams, which include the Regina Strikers, Lumsden Cubs, and the Saskatoon Hustlers and Phantoms.

Out of those teams, P.A. has only played the Phantoms once. As for the rest, this will be their first meeting of the season, something that Assistant Coach Curtis Bradbury said is a simple thought to overcome.

“We just have to play our game,” he said. “Looking at our pool, I think we’ll do well and if we come out and play hard and play Aces ball, we should be playing on Sunday.”

Bradbury added that he, along with the other coaching staff and the players, are all equally excited for this weekend and that they’re all hopeful for a successful tournament.

He also mentioned that he’s confident in the team’s performance because of their success over this past season.

“We’ve had a successful season to date,” he said. “They’ve developed a lot since the start of the year and have developed not just into better players but into better people as well.”

The Aces’ run at the Provincial Championship gets underway on Friday at 10:15 a.m. versus Regina.
