Three people deceased after ATV collision near Dillon, SK
A tragic accident left family and friends mourning the loss of three lives on Canada Day near Dillon, SK, about 450 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.
Shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Friday night, RCMP received a report of a collision between two ATVs on Highway 925, just outside of Dillon. When officers arrived on scene, they found the two ATVs on fire and nurses from the Buffalo River Dene Nation Health Centre were on scene providing first aid to those involved in the crash.
A 44-year-old woman, a 21-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, all from the Dillon area, were declared deceased at the scene by local EMS. One woman was taken to hospital in Île-à-la-Crosse for what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased and those impacted by this tragedy,” said S/Sgt. Shawn Carter, Buffalo Narrows RCMP Detachment Commander. “This is a tragic event for our community.
