Wâhkôhtowin – Presented by SUM Theatre Group

Jun 8, 2022 | 9:54 AM

It’s a BIG year for Sum Theatre as its flagship Theatre in the Park celebrates a DECADE of bringing live, professional theatre free to families in Saskatchewan. The tour is already underway in Saskatoon and heading to Regina June 5 – 12.

Then, for the FIRST TIME, Theatre in the Park will be visiting our beautiful Northern parks June 15 – 18 with stops in Prince Albert, La Ronge, Stanley Mission and Waskesiu.

Northern Saskatchewan June 15 – 18

In cree, wâhkôhtowin means “all my relations’ and this is an original tale about the connections we share with each other, the earth, water, and sky.

It’s all about community building and we are so proud of this summer tradition. The performance will include an incredible story, live music, giant puppets and audience participation families have come to love over the past 10 years.

Sum Theatre is making some major changes this season, shifting its performance schedule from July to May and June to kick off the summer fun early and also escape the extreme heat and wild weather that climate change has challenged Theatre in the Park over the past few years

Sum is also expanding its touring schedule to include Saskatoon, Regina and area as well as several performances in Saskatchewan’s northern communities. This is a goal we have had since Theatre in the Park began and we are so excited it’s finally a reality.
