November preliminary hearing date for Brass

Jun 7, 2022 | 1:00 PM

A man accused of killing his infant son in February has had a preliminary hearing date set.

Kaij Brass is charged with second degree murder in the death of the 13-month-old at a home in Prince Albert in February.

A preliminary hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence to proceed to trial will start on Nov. 14 and possibly continue the following two days if needed.

Up to five witnesses may be called.

As of yet, no decision has been made if Brass would eventually be tried by judge alone or by judge and jury.

Brass is facing a second charge of assault from the same Feb. 10 date and that matter will also be dealt with during the preliminary hearing dates.
