Situation with RCMP concluded at Cumberland House

There is no further risk to the public at Cumberland House Cree Nation as an incident with an unknown armed man has been resolved.
RCMP first sent out notice of the incident at 1:18 p.m. when a man was reportedly walking around the Pemmican Portage Avenue area with what appeared to be a long-barrel firearm. Residents were warned to stay in their houses and to lock all doors and windows.
By 3:22 p.m. the incident was confined to 133 Pemmican Portage Avenue where firearms were being discharged out of the home.
Saskatchewan RCMP Critical Incident Response Team is still on scene and an increased police presence will continue in the community.
