Defenceman Christensen signs with Raiders
The Prince Albert Raiders season came to an end on Friday night against the Winnipeg ICE, but the work off the ice is only just beginning. Less than a week after the conclusion of their season, the team announced a move to build for next year.
This afternoon, the Raiders announced the signing of defenceman Justice Christensen of the Yale Hockey Academy U18 Prep team. The 2005-born native of Red Deer served as the team’s captain in the 2021-22 season.
“We are excited to add Justice as the newest member of our defence,” said Raiders General Manager Curtis Hunt. “He fits in perfectly with the group that we have. He brings intensity, speed, and skill to the back end.”
Despite being a defenceman, Christensen put up some numbers on the offensive side last season as well. The 5-foot-9 rearguard posted eight goals and 21 points with 45 penalty minutes in 35 games.
