Machete wielding suspect commits assault at business in Canwood
A woman from Big River First Nation is alleged to have been carrying a machete when she entered a business in Canwood early Wednesday morning.
Erin Whitefish, 32, faces half a dozen charges including two counts of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, uttering threats and possession of methamphetamine.
According to information provided by RCMP, officers responded to the business at 9 a.m. and the accused was arrested shortly after.
A machete was also seized at the scene. RCMP have also indicated a man was transported to hospital by ambulance, although the extent of his injuries is not clear.
