Death of an inmate at regional psychiatric centre under review

Correctional Service Canada reported the recent death of an inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon.

Yesterday, Anthony Wood, an inmate at the centre, died while in custody. While the CSC reported it was of apparent natural causes following an illness, as is their policy with all inmate deaths they will be reviewing the circumstance.

At the time of his death, Wood was serving a two year six month sentence for sexual assault. His sentence commenced on April 7, 2021.

His next of kin have been notified of his death.
