Bears close out regular season with goal-festival sweep over Sharks
As the Prince Albert Winter Festival wrapped up this week, the Prince Albert Northern Bears had their own goal festival at the Art Hauser Centre this weekend scoring 14 times in a two-game sweep over the Battlefords Sharks. The Bears defeated the Sharks 9-2 on Sunday after a 5-1 victory Saturday night.
Sophia Zuck scored a hat trick on Sunday getting two goals in a wild second period where the Bears mindbogglingly scored seven times. She also scored in the first period along with Erin Kirkland and Claudia Lammers. Captain Paige Dawson scored twice, while Jazlyn Petreman and Carnell Olsen also scored.
Paige Fischer made 30 saves on 32 shots in goal for the Bears.
On Saturday, five different Bears scored, including goals from Zuck and Petreman. Julia Cey, Taylor Leitch and Kassie Ferster also scored. Brooke Archer made 28 saves in the victory.
