Alleged shoplifter accused of bear spraying store employee

A woman accused of bear spraying a Prince Albert retail employee, will spend the long weekend in custody.

Dacey Corrigal, 21, is facing a number of charges including assault with a weapon and theft, in connection to the incident Thursday at a South Hill Mall business.

Corrigal broke down in tears when she appeared in person Friday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court. She was subsequently remanded to Tuesday.

Sources have told paNOW the store employee was not seriously hurt.

In addition, Corrigal also has one other outstanding charge in Prince Albert related to possession of bear mace, as well as other more serious charges from Saskatoon.

She was one of five people arrested after a weapons seizure on Jan. 5. involving numerous firearms and ammunition.
