Catering to their members’ needs

Best Financial Institution: Conexus

Feb 17, 2022 | 2:19 PM

The responsibility to provide not only simple and seamless experiences but enhanced delivery and accessibility, personalized to suit each member’s evolving needs is a demand that financial institutions continue to strive to meet. Those that rise to the occasion are one step ahead in proactively catering to their members’ needs.

At Conexus, Credit Union (Conexus), financial well-being isn’t just a statement but a concept it lives by and is motivated by daily. Conexus puts its members’ financial well-being above everything else and is the basis for every decision. This commitment to enabling members to work towards and achieve their financial goals is one of the reasons it has once again been voted Best Financial Institution at the 2022 BOB Awards. Conexus received this recognition in 2014, 2015, 2018 & 2021.

Brent Smith, Prince Albert Branch Manager, says financial wellness is all about creating healthy financial behaviours that result in being prepared for the unexpected and have the knowledge and confidence that you make smart decisions with your money.

“As a community-minded co-operative, it’s our goal to help our province and our members get to a better place financially.” Smith said. “There’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to your finances. We take a deep dive to understand our members’ financial goals, hopes, apprehensions and fears around money and ask the tough questions so we can provide meaningful advice and solutions specific to them.”

Conexus knows that it is only when someone’s basic human needs are met, that they can become financially well and that’s why, in 2021, it invested over $1.9 million to support capital projects and non-profit initiatives that enhance the quality of life of those within our communities. In Prince Albert, Conexus Credit Union currently partners with the Prince Albert Literacy Network to sponsor a Financial Literacy Course and has supported capital projects in the region with the most recent being its donation of $50,000 to the Rose Garden Hospice building project.

Additionally, Conexus is consistently providing free financial literacy workshops across Saskatchewan all year round through its community partnerships and Each One Teach One program.

Conexus is a member-owned institution that is committed to putting your needs first, by offering low rates and providing a service system that prioritizes its members above profit-making. To learn more, visit their website at Conexus.ca or stop in. Who We Are | Conexus Credit Union
