The Saskatchewan Roughriders have put pen to paper with two homegrown talents.

On Monday, the CFL team announced the re-signing of national offensive linemen Evan Johnson and Logan Ferland. The details of the contract extensions weren’t released.

Johnson played all 14 regular-season games in 2021, along with both playoff matchups. The Regina product previously played three seasons with the Ottawa Redblacks, winning the Grey Cup with the organization in 2018.

The University of Saskatchewan alumnus played right guard for the Green and White in 2021.

Ferland wrapped up his rookie season with the Riders with 14 starts in 2021, playing the most snaps on the team in the calendar year. He started at left guard for the team in both post-season games.

The 24-year-old from Melfort initially signed with the Riders in 2019 as a territorial junior, spending the year on the practice roster and starring with the Regina Thunder from 2015 to 2019.
