Prakash Consulting: Continued community commitment

Dec 14, 2021 | 9:49 AM

After 52 years of service in Prince Albert, one of the community’s brightest minds is calling it a career.

Ravi Prakash, Founder of Prakash Engineering Ltd, is entering the next chapter of his accomplished life, retirement.

While he has moved on from being one of the key figures in the company, Prakash noted the associates that he has partnered with to develop Prakash Consulting Ltd. over a decade ago will continue to provide clients with the same top-notch service they have grown accustomed to over the years.

“My guys at the office that are taking over are the best people that I could ever imagine. I’m leaving [the business] in good hands, and they will be successful,” Prakash said.

His trusted leadership team has worked by his side since 2007 to ensure the business would thrive and their clients would be taken care of after his departure. By gradually taking on his responsibilities and allowing him to take steps toward retirement, both Ravi and the team at Prakash Consulting are ready for what lies ahead.

Martin Kiffiak, principal engineer, explained the team plans to continue improving services for their clients and facilitating positive developments in the community like they’ve done throughout their years in business together.

“Even though one of the partners has retired, the rest of the team is still the same. We are going to continue to diversify, and we look forward to serving our existing and new clientele in the future,” Kiffiak said.

“I’m happy for Ravi. He spent a lot of his life in and around the industry, and he’s had a good career. He has a retirement he can enjoy, children and grandchildren that he goes to visit, and he enjoys traveling with his wife. Knowing that he’ll have things to do when he retires makes me happy.”

Prakash Consulting’s leadership group plans to demonstrate their continued commitment to the wellbeing of the community through supporting essential resources and programs in the community – two of which are the Rose Garden Hospice and The Victoria Hospital.

Jim Brown, senior engineering technologist, has worked with Prakash since the beginning of Prakash Engineering in 1980. Brown said the trials and tribulations they experienced together helped cultivate a lasting relationship that spanned throughout their careers and personal lives.

“I learned a lot from him, and he learned a lot from me in various ways, in both personal and business. We became not only just an employee and employer, but also friends,” he said.

“It was good to see him start to take life a little bit easier toward retirement and know the partnership we formed really helped make it easier for him to take a step back.”

Bradley Johnson, senior engineer, said he knows the bond he’s formed with his esteemed colleague will continue to flourish. As the management team moves forward with confidence from their shared experiences, he added they also anticipate future opportunities to reconnect.

“I wish Ravi the best of luck for his continued health and prosperity going forward,” Johnson said.

“We look forward to the time he comes back to visit us, have coffee with us, share stories and catch up on how we’re doing. We look forward to continuing the fellowship that we have.”
