The Prince Albert Raiders (9-12-1-1) will play their first game tonight under the leadership of new captain Reece Vitelli when the Raiders take to the ice at the Brandt Centre to face the Regina Pats (10-14).

In a very newsy last couple of weeks, the Raiders’ captaincy was vacant after Kaiden Guhle was dealt to his hometown Edmonton Oil Kings. Vitelli will play in his 246th WHL career game tonight against the Pats—and his 102nd game with the Raiders. Nolan Allan also received an ‘A’ to become one of Vitelli’s assistants.

The Raiders came back from a 4-1 deficit to scrape away a point in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Swift Current Broncos. The Raiders have recorded points in their last four games, as they won their three previous games, 5–2 over the Pats on Dec. 3, 4–3 in overtime over the Winnipeg ICE on Nov. 28, and 2–1 over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Nov. 27.

The Pats haven’t been on as good of form, as they are 1–4 since Nov. 27. They lost four straight games before defeating the Medicine Hat Tigers 4–2 on Wednesday at the Brandt Centre.

The Raiders will hope to keep the Ozzy Wiesblatt line rolling, as he, Sloan Stanick and Carson Latimer have been their three big producers as of late. Stanick has goals in each of his last three games, and has a five-game point streak (three goals, two assists in that span).

Wiesblatt has a pair of assists in each of his last three games, also scoring a goal in that time as well. Latimer has only been a Raider for two games, but already has a goal and two assists. He made his Raider debut on Dec. 3 in a 5–2 victory over the Pats, getting an assist.
