Nov 27, 2021 | 11:00 AM

Over the next few weeks, Prince Albert Raider fans can help spread holiday cheer, while also cheering on their favorite team.

The club has announced a series of fundraisers and contests spread over five home games prior to the Christmas break.

On Dec. 3 when the Regina Pats come to town, the Raiders, along with the Car Guys at Mann-Northway Chevrolet Buick GMC and Pet Planet are helping to ‘Pack The Pick-Up’ in support of the Prince Albert SPCA. Fans can bring their donations of pet food to the game for the animal shelter and be entered to win a detailing package courtesy of Mann-Northway.

The Optimist Club of Prince Albert presents Santa Anonymous Night on Dec. 7 against the Swift Current Broncos. This is the 60th consecutive year the Optimist Club has organized the program. Fans are being asked to bring in toys for donation that will be added to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Hampers. Last year, the program helped about 600 kids aged 12 and under.

During a game against the Calgary Hitmen on Dec. 11, fans can bring in toques and mitts (wrapped in plastic bags) to throw on to the ice when the Raiders score their first goal of the game, presented by Canadian Tire.

And, on Dec. 14, $5 from every ticket sold for the game against the Winnipeg ICE will be donated to a local organization when using the corresponding promo code. For more information on the Community Cares Fundraising Night, click here.

Finally, the Saskatoon Blades visit the Hauser on Dec. 17 in a game presented by Lakeland Ford. It’s the final home game scheduled before the holiday break. The night will feature the grand finale of Lakeland Ford’s 50K Giveaway. Three finalists will be facing off for a chance to win the prize. Even those not in the final still have a chance to win. The Raiders and Lakeland Ford will be holding a draw on the CHL App from Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. to Thursday, Dec. 16 at noon for three lucky funs who will win tickets to the game but be paired with a finalist to win 10 percent of their prize.

The puck drop for each game is 7 p.m. The Raider’s head to Manitoba this weekend for their next action, beginning Saturday night in Brandon against the Wheat Kings.
