RCMP investigating after fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Big River First Nation

UPDATE: As of 4:03 p.m. Nov. 25, the RCMP have reported the dark red vehicle has been found and the investigation is ongoing.

Also the victim has been identified as 23-year-old woman from the area and her family has been notified.

Big River RCMP are asking for help finding a vehicle following a fatal incident Monday morning.

Around 8:40 a.m., RCMP and EMS were called to the Big River First Nation to an area just north of the Roman Catholic Church for a report of a collision between a vehicle and adult pedestrian. When they arrived, no vehicles were at the scene and the pedestrian was declared deceased.

Police said more details about the victim will be released after next of kin are notified.

Big River RCMP and the Saskatchewan RCMP Collision Reconstructionist are investigating but police are asking the public to help locate a dark red vehicle that was seen in the area at the time of the incident. Police believe the people inside may have information about the investigation.
