While volleyball season wraps up across the province, Prince Albert’s St. Mary and Carlton High Schools travelled to Saskatoon to compete for the provincial 5A volleyball title.

Both teams would compete in the same pool with St. Mary finishing off the round robin in second place with a three win and one loss record just under Swift Current who finished undefeated. Carlton finished off the round robin in the middle of the pack with two wins and two losses.

Going into the playoffs, Carlton would see their journey ended after a quarterfinal two straight loss to Saskatoon’s St. Joesph’s.

St. Mary would go undefeated in the quarter and semi-finals taking both Lloydminster Comp. and Saskatoon Centennial two straight in both matches.

The final would be a different story as they would once again face Swift Current.

St. Mary lost two straight to take second place in the province. Swift Current finished the entire tournament nearly undefeated with only one set loss against Saskatoon Centennial in the round robin.

Basketball and wrestling action is up next for high school sports in the province.
