Multi-Platinum artist brings his ‘Love Someone’ tour to Prince Albert

A Canadian music superstar will soon be rolling into the EA Rawlinson Centre in Prince Albert.

Multi-Platinum, award-winning artist Johnny Reid will bring his 2022 Canadian Tour to the city on March 18 and 19.

The tour “Love Someone: An Intimate Evening with Johnny Reid”, kicks off in London on Feb. 10, and is set to be one of the longest-running artist tours in Canadian history with over 100 shows.

Marketing and Events Coordinator at EA Rawlinson, Cara Stelmaschuk, said they can’t contain their excitement over this news.

“We are just so excited with this announcement and that we are going to be hosting such a big talent in our building. This is the longest-running artist tour in Canadian history, and we get to be a part of that so that’s pretty special, that’s kind of a feather in the cap for a venue like Prince Albert’s EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts.”

Reid is not the only big name in Canadian entertainment that will come to the EA Rawlinson.

Earlier this month, Canadian country music star Tebey announced his upcoming tour which includes a stop in Prince Albert on Feb. 25.

On Nov. 25, JUNO winning artist Chantal Kreviazuk will grace the stage at the Rawlinson.

Other big names that will make their way to Prince Albert include Zachary Lucky, The Trews, Brent Butt, and Fred Penner.

Having big names along with great local and provincial talent is something Stelmaschuk can’t help but smile at.

“We get to have these shows every now and then and it’s a big deal when we get them,” she said. “It’s kind of nice when they leave and they like to tell us how much they like being here and how nice the audience is, how beautiful the venue is and that’s huge to us because these people have played stadiums and they still like coming to a 600-seat soft-seat theatre because it’s intimate and it’s up close.”

According to a release, Reid’s upcoming tour will give fans a rare chance to hear him live in an up-close and personal setting as opposed to the major market venues and colossal crowds he typically draws. The past ten years have seen Reid perform to over 1 million people.

“The pandemic has taught me a lot about the value of time. I’ve given a lot of thought about how and where I want to spend my time,” Reid said. “I’m really excited to bring this tour to as many places as possible. I can’t wait to reconnect with all of the people that have supported me all of these years in a more intimate concert experience.”

Tickets for the performances at the EA Rawlinson Centre go on sale Nov. 26 starting at 10:00 a.m.
