Nov 18, 2021 | 12:00 PM

The Town of Birch Hills has a new mayor.

Stewart Adams emerged the victor from Wednesday’s election with 249 votes.

When previously interviewed by paNOW, he discussed the need for improved transparency from council, and a desire to seek more funding to improve the town’s water plant.

The other two candidates, John Herd and Lyle Evans, received 41 and 40 votes respectively.

Barry Evans was elected to the vacant council seat, formerly held by Shannon Simpso.

The new mayor and councillor will be sworn in at the next council meeting on Nov. 24.
