Supporting Our Veterans and Building Stronger Communities – Third Application Intake Opens
The Government of Saskatchewan continues to strengthen the long-term sustainability of provincial service clubs – supporting veterans, their families and communities.
Introduced in 2019-20, the Saskatchewan Veterans Service Club Support Program provides grants for repairs and upgrades, special events, programs and activities to engage the community and advance the work of veterans’ service organizations across the province.
“As we once again prepare to honour our veterans and keep the memories of our fallen heroes alive on Remembrance Day, I am proud to say that we have made significant strides with this program,” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Laura Ross said. “In the first two intake periods for 2021-22, a total of 77 registered, non-profit military service clubs, Legion branches and Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans (ANAVETS) units based in Saskatchewan received funding grants in excess of $1.21 million.”
For 2021-22, program funding was increased to $1.5 million. A third intake period is being opened on a rolling basis, or first come, first served, for the remainder of the year.
