North Central communities unveil different plans for Halloween

Trick or Treaters will soon be out and about for Halloween and different communities in North Central Saskatchewan have some recommendations to enjoy the festivities safely.

The provincial government has laid out some rules for Halloween including travelling with your own household and only handing out individually wrapped store-bought treats.

The province is also recommending physical distancing, frequent hand washing and wearing masks.

The City of Prince Albert is following these guidelines and many nearby communities are also doing that.

Some municipalities though are taking things a step further by either hosting specific events or recommending certain times for going out.

St. Louis council is suggesting trick or treating be done between the hours of 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

A similar recommendation was also issued by the Town of Shellbrook, encouraging families to trick or treat between 3:00 and 8:00 p.m.

The Town of Shellbrook is following Prince Albert’s lead by encouraging homes to place a poster showing if they are allowing trick or treaters this year.

Meanwhile, the Village of Candle Lake is encouraging residents to participate in its annual Trunk or Treat on Oct. 30, in lieu of going out on the Halloween day.
