Prince Albert Police have now confirmed the identity of the city’s most recent homicide victim.

John Joe “Johnny” Besskkaystare, 25, was found deceased early Sunday morning in the area of the South Hill Mall.

Clarissa Campbell, 43, and Chandler Laliberte, 22, have each been charged with second degree murder and made their first court appearance in Prince Albert Monday. Both were remanded to Oct. 4.

Investigators have indicated they do not believe the victim and the two accused were known to each other, and added no further charges are expected.

Besskkaystare’s sister Julie Laban told paNOW her brother was visiting the city from Wollaston Lake.

“He was a very nice person and he didn’t make trouble with anyone. He has never been out to drink and he here for his appointment and this is what happened,” she said, adding she did not expect to hear the tragic news on Sunday morning.

In a Facepost, Besskkaystare’s other sister Jen Bendoni described him as one of the kindest men, a person will meet

“Our hearts are so heavy right now words can’t explain how we all feel about the loss of our young brother,” she said.
