RCMP renewing call for help locating missing siblings

Sep 2, 2021 | 4:14 PM

UPDATE: Prince Albert RCMP confirmed on Sept. 9 that Alex McGillivary and Kathryn Cusveller have been found safe.

The search for two missing siblings is nearing the two week mark, with no sign of either person.

Alex McGillivary, 20, and Kathryn Cusveller, 24, were last seen on Aug. 20. Both were living at Muskoday First Nation.

Prince Albert RCMP, which is liaising with band officials, believe that Alex and Kathryn may be together, but this has not been confirmed.

Michelle Vandevord, associate director of Sask. First Nations Emergency Management, previously explained to paNOW their belief that Alex may be camping out.

“He’s always talking about living off the land, very adamant people should not be living in houses, and now being off his meds, I think that idea has really stuck in his head,” she said.

Adding to everyone’s concern is that Alex requires medication which may be affecting his judgment.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts should contact the Prince Albert RCMP. To report information anonymously, individuals can call Crime Stoppers. A Facebook group has also been created to help provide updates in the search.

According to Wednesday’s update on the page, search efforts have been hampered by bad weather. Volunteers are still being needed to help with the ground search, as well as drone support, and quads.

Family have indicated they have heard nothing, and are concerned about Alex and Kathryn’s general welfare and would like to know they are okay.
