Delay in COVID numbers reported by province

The Saskatchewan government will not be reporting any new COVID numbers today after reporting a delay on their social media.

According to the government’s Facebook page, “Today’s COVID-19 update is delayed and the dashboard will not be updated as a result. Public Health is working to address the issue and we anticipate regular reporting will resume again tomorrow.”

NITHA Data

As of Aug. 22, there are 174 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.

These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 21; Far North West, 63; Far North East, 67; North Central, 22; and North East, one; 4282 cases (96%) have recovered, and eight people are hospitalized.

There are 73 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; 10, Far North West, 20; and Far North East, 26; North Central, 17; and North East, 0.

Athabasca Health Authority

As of Aug. 22, there are 14 active cases in the Athabasca Health Authority.

The health authority is reporting that all cases in Stony Rapids have been recovered as of Aug. 19 meaning all cases that are currently active are all in the Black Lake community.

There have been no community to community transfers being reported by the authority and all residents are being encouraged to be vaccinated. Vaccination rates for the entire authority sit at 1 in 3 people being fully vaccinated with targets yet to be met in Black Lake and Fond Du Lac.
