187 new COVID-19 cases reported in province

For the first time since Monday, the new COVID-19 cases reported in Saskatchewan did not increase from the day before.

There were 187 new cases reported on Saturday after the province announced 244 new cases on Friday.

Ever since the province removed all COVID-19 restrictions on July 11, cases have risen each week.

The week starting on July 12, the province recorded 198 total cases that week. In the six days this week since Aug. 18, there are already 944 with Sunday’s report still pending.

On the new 187 cases, 22 are in the North East, 16 in North Central, and 12 in the North West. In the Far North, there are 22 cases (14 in the Far North East, two in the Far North Central, and six in the Far North West).

There were no new deaths. There were five more hospitalizations reported, making it 89 currently. There are 1,478 active cases currently in the province.

There are 181 active cases of COVID-19 in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority communities.

These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 21; Far North West, 70; Far North East, 67; North Central, 22; and North East, 1; 4,239 cases (95%) have recovered, and five people are hospitalized.
