Attack teams grateful to finally be able to host provincials
When the Prince Albert Attack field lacrosse teams started practicing in limited, socially distanced walkthroughs this May, actually being able to host a provincial tournament seemed so far away.
But now that uncertainty will become a reality this weekend as the Attack hosts the provincials at the 18U, 15U, and 13U levels Friday through Sunday at Prime Ministers’ Park.
“Personally, it’s a lot of relief that it’s finally able to happen,” Javan Bexson, coach on all the 18U, 15U, and 13U Attack teams, and president of Prince Albert Lacrosse. “From a players’ standpoint, they’re all just very excited to be able to compete.”
There will be a drum ceremony and a brief welcome from a group of delegates at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, shortly before the 18U Attack take on the Saskatoon Guardians on Max Clunie Field.
