In a game that was neck-and-neck down the stretch, and would eventually be decided by a late home run, the Birch Hills Brewers emerged victorious Thursday night to win the Labatts Cup in front of a hometown crowd.

The Brewers defeated the Tisdale Rangers 6-5 in game two of the best-of-three series.

Pitchers Czar Hester and Michael Springanotic went seven strong inning for both teams, but the game winner came off the bat of Tyler Tilford when he hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the brewers the win.

Game one, played on Aug.10, was also a back and forth game.

The game was tied 4-4 in the fifth inning when Birch Hills starting pitcher Logan Casavant hit a two run shot to make it 6-4.

The Brewers would go on to add three more runs in the sixth to make it 9-4. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Tisdale began to mount a comeback scoring two runs, but with the bases loaded, Birch Hills was able to get the third out for a 9-6 win.
