Paper Excellence and Cumberland Wood Products team up to plant 1,000 jack pines

Around 1,000 jack pine trees were planted around the Cumberland House Cree Nation, thanks to a partnership with Paper Excellence at Cumberland Wood Products (CWP).

CWP wood products was created by the Cree Nation to provide economic benefits directly to the communities.

Paper Excellence provided the seedlings through its partnership with Meadow Lake, while the CWP oversaw the planting along with community volunteers from May 3 to June 3.

This spring, using seedlings facilitated by Paper Excellence through its partnership in Meadow Lake, CWP managed the plant with several volunteers from the community on May 27 and June 3.
