P.A.’s Schneider wins World Championship gold
In a year where most hockey players have played the least amount of games, or none at all in some cases, Braden Schneider is getting the absolute most out of this year.
Before celebrating his 20th birthday, Braden Schneider has already won World Championship gold as Team Canada beat Finland 3-2 in overtime in Riga, Latvia with a clutch goal for Nick Paul.
Canada started the tournament with three defeats in their first three games but rallied their way to the gold medal game. Schneider had an assist in eight tournament games for Canada.
So far in the past calendar year, Schneider has been drafted and signed by the New York Rangers (in the first round as well), won silver for Team Canada at the World Juniors, won the WHL East Division title with the first place Brandon Wheat Kings, and made his professional debut with the Hartford Wolf Pack.
