Extra lanes coming to 15th Street East, but not before delays
One of the busiest roads in Prince Albert will get bigger.
Starting on Monday, construction on 15th Street East from 1st to 6th Avenue will begin. The street will widen to include a third lane in both directions, as well as the construction of new curbs and gutters, milling, and repaving.
“Currently, the traffic volume on 15th Street is up to 28,800 vehicles per day. So, we see the necessity in getting those paving upgrades, and the street widened to three lanes in each direction and the construction of new curbs and gutters,” said Nykol Miller, Capital Projects Manager for the City of Prince Albert.
There will also be work done on the business accesses in the area, as well as a new signalized intersection on 4th Ave. East and reconfiguration of the intersection at 5th Ave. East.
