P.A. police investigate possible homicide

The Prince Albert Police Service has announced a man has died after being injured in an incident on Saturday.

Police said in a media release they responded to a report of an injured man in the 900 block of 17th Street West, just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The man was transported to the the Victoria Hospital where he later died. Police are investigating the matter as a homicide.

Although police did not release details of how the man died, the Prince Albert Fire Department posted on Facebook that a pedestrian “was struck by a vehicle” at the same time and place.

Prince Albert Police Service, the Prince Albert Fire Department, and Parkland Ambulance all reported to the scene.

An autopsy will take place Tuesday as part of the investigation. Members from the Prince Albert Police Service Criminal Investigations Division and Forensic Identification Section are investigating.
