65-year-old man rescued from river Sunday morning dies

UPDATE: The man who was rescued from the North Saskatchewan River Sunday has died. In a brief media release Monday, P.A. Police Services Police extended their condolences to family and friends of the deceased.

Police said a witness saw the man enter the river at 7 a.m.Sunday.

Foul play was ruled out and police described the matter as a mental health incident.

A 65-year-old man was rescued from the North Saskatchewan river early on Sunday morning.

The Prince Albert Police Service said the man is in hospital, after “life-saving procedures were attempted.”

Police, along with the Prince Albert Fire Department and Parkland Ambulance, answered the report at 7 a.m. Sunday morning.
