Saskatoon police officer under investigation after ‘freedom rally’ resigns
Saskatoon police have confirmed one of their officers has resigned after an investigation into whether that person attended the “Children’s Freedom Rally” on April 24.
In a one-line statement, the Saskatoon Police Service says the review into the officer’s activities has ended with that resignation.
About 120 people attended the rally, held at Kiwanis Park. It was billed as a maskless, family-friendly event complete with face painting, a fishing pond and balloon animals.
Prior to the event, Mayor Charlie Clark implored residents not to attend, calling it “irresponsible and dangerous.”
