Fire scorches West flat duplex

Mar 4, 2021 | 12:17 PM

The cause of a fire Wednesday night in Prince Albert’s west flat, remains under investigation.

Around 8:20 p.m., the fire department was dispatched to a duplex near the corner of 12th Ave. and 18th St. W. Upon arrival, the residence was already engulfed in flames. Crews then remained on scene for just over two hours, and were able to keep the fire contained to one unit. There was however extensive damage to the upper floor.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

Just hours earlier, members from police SWAT were observed at separate residence in the same area. A spokesperson for the Prince Albert Police Service told paNOW they don’t believe the two incidents are related.
