Council to discuss expansion of eastern city limits
A proposal to expand Prince Albert city limits to the east by annexing 45 acres of land from a neighboring R.M. is on the agenda at Monday evening’s Prince Albert city council meeting.
The 45 acre section in question is a part of a larger 73 acre parcel the city purchased last year. Although the city owns it, the land currently sits in the R.M. of Prince Albert.
The plot will be used for future development in the Crescent Acres area and to connect Byars Street with Highway 302.
The engineering and design of the new road is expected to cost around $200,000. A further $700,000 for its construction will be included in the 2022 city budget, according to a report from the city’s planning and development department.
