MELFORT, Sask. – Global wheat prices increased again last week on rising global consumption and lower stocks.
The latest Sask. Wheat market report indicated Canada and the United States have been exporting larger volumes due to lower ending stocks.
Canadian wheat exports were at 481,000 tonnes bringing the crop year total to 10.6 million tonnes which is 30 per cent higher than last year.
The report, compiled by Mercantile Consulting Venture, said wheat is selling for $8.00 per bushel while new crop wheat is priced at roughly $7.75 per bushel.
